What type of Littmann stethoscope is best for nursing students? I am starting nursing school in a few months and I am needing to buy a stethoscope. Money is not a problem I am just unsure as to which one will work best. I am wanting to buy a Littmann but can't decide between the cardiology iii, or classic ii or classic s.e.
Does the 3M Littmann Classic II Pediatric Stethoscope work well? I'm wondering if the 3M Littmann Classic II Pediatric Stethoscope is any good. I'm in a Vet Tech program and I'll be needing a pediatric stethoscope soon. One of my teachers recommended the Ren-Lor stethoscopes. But I was wondering about this kind. Please let me know. Thanks!

where can i buy littmann stet? hi i live in toronto ON i need to know where i can buy littmann stethoscopes that is not online. school bookstores tend to sell them at higher price
About stethoscope Littmann 3000 ? 1.Would you buy a Littman 3000 or a Littmann 4100 (considering design, facilities and money) ? 2.If there is no battery inside the tube, can be sounds still be heared (without amplification or other technological trick)? I mean if the stethoscope is out the battery can be still used? 3.Is there a main difference between the sound that can be heared with a normal stethoscope and the one of an electronical steth.? I looked on the official site but i'm afraid they just wanna sell the product, and that's why they exagerate the facilities. I don't belive every word there, so I'm curious, has anyone tried it? It's my first steth. to buy I'm a stud.
Littmann Lightweight II SE Stethoscope? We're wanting to buy a Stethoscope as a gift for a medical student. We want it to be in a reasonable price but also good quality. I know littman is one of the best whenit comes to this stuff. So, we were thinking about the Littmann Lightweight II SE Stethoscope. Would this be a good one for a medical student? After this, the prices start rising...
Whch Littmann Stethoscope ? Should I get the Littmann Lightweight II or the Littmann Select? I understand the Littmann Cardiology steths are considered "the best", but price (these 2 are the same price) and quality is what I am considering at this moment in time. Also, as far as BP kits...are they all the same or is there a brand(s) that is better than others?
littmann stethoscopes? what kind of littmann would you recommend for an emt/paramedic? what kind for an er rn? is it worth the extra money for a cardiology one? also what is the difference/benefit of the dual sided or the single sided? does it really matter when it comes to use in the field as an emt/paramedic? or is it mostly relevant to dr's or nurses?
How do you get ink off of a stethoscope? I have a Littmann Stethoscope with pink tubing and a pen exploded in my backpack and the tubing is now marked with ink. Does anyone know of anything that would take it off? Thank you for the replies. I should have written that I have tried alcohol already on three different occasions and it did not even fade. I have also tried a product called -simply green- and it did not touch it.
Stethoscopes: MMS/Littmann? How do the MMS stethoscopes compare with the Littmann ones? Because they are so much cheaper. Im a 2nd year med student and and I would like to know which one is more appropriate for me? (I'm looking at the Cariology III 3128) If anyone knows much about stethoscopes?
PureTone vs. Littmann stethoscope? I am getting a new stethoscope my old one finally crapped out! I'm wondering what anyone's experiences with Littmann vs PureTone have been? I'm looking to spend less than 200 on a new scope. I'm an RN back in school for CRNA. THanks
Does anyone have any info about a good stethoscope? I am debating between a Littmann Classic II S.E. or a Ligthweight Classic II S.E.. I just wanted to see if anyone has any personal preference between the two. Can you hear better with one over the other? Do the soft-sealing eartips really make a difference? Is the one piece bell/diaphragm design work well? Any advice is greatly appreciated!
What is the best stethoscope for an emt? I'm an emt student right now, and am guessing that the stethoscopes we get in the kits we buy aren't the greatest. But should I spend the money for the cardiologist grade, I've heard Littmann is the best, or is that really not necessary for emt/paramedic work? I figured I would just stick with the one I have now through the rest of class, even though it's kind of long for me. I'm only 5'2''
Littmann stethescope -which is better? i'm buying a new littmann steth...so can u pls tell me which one of the foll 2 is better to buy..CLASSIC 2 OR MASTER CLASSIC 2??? I'm doin Mbbs now...pls ans and guide me.....
I can't afford a Littmann for EMT class, can you recommend the next best thing? I am in EMT-B training right now and need to find a stethoscope that isn't quite as expensive as a Littmann. I've heard you will lose stetho's a lot in the field, and I would rather not spend $80 on something that could potentially "disappear" after the first week of use. Yes, I realize that you get what you pay for, but I just can't afford a Littmann at this point. I've been trying to do some research online, but haven't come up with much of a definitive answer, so I thought I would try Yahoo Answers. I've researched Delphi stetho's and those seem to have somewhat good ratings. Has anyone ever used one of these? Any information you could provide would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance! :-)
Stethoscopes: is a Littmann Master Cardiology noticeably better than a Littmann Cardiology III? I have just graduated from medical school in the UK and am starting my FY1 job in a couple of weeks. I have been using a Littmann Classic SE II throughout my training and it has served its purpose, although it's getting a bit battered. A few of my friends have upgraded to a Master Cardiology. I had a listen with one of my friends' Master Cardiology scopes and I must admit there seems to be less background noise; apparently it is easier to hear diastolic sounds as well, although I can't verify that. I have caught the bug and would like to upgrade as well. =) I have found a Cardiology III for £92 ex VAT and a Master for £112 ex vat - the price is close enough that it is not really an issue for me. What I'm not sure about is: (1) How much better is the Master Cardiology than a Cardiology III? Would I actually notice the difference? (2) In the PACES exam do they prefer you to use a Cardiology III, since it has a separate bell? Would my seniors give me a hard time for using a single-sided stethoscope? It has a tunable diaphragm (as does the Cardiology III), so there is apparently no need for the bell, but I can't see this going down well with the more dogmatic consultants and regs... (3) How difficult is it to auscultate the carotids and thin elderly people's chests using the Master Cardiology? I noticed that it has quite a large diaphragm and perhaps this could be a problem. I suppose really I'd prefer to buy the Master, I just need some reassurance. Thanks! Also, does anyone have any experience with a Welch Allyn Harvey Elite? I have heard that some people consider this to be better than the Littmann cardiology models, mainly due to the use of a classic bell/diaphragm.
What is the real color of the 3M Littmann Classic II stethoscope in "raspberry."? I'm thinking about getting the 3M Littmann Classic II stethoscope in the raspberry color, but I've seen so may variations of the color I don't know which one is right. I want to have mine engraved so if I get it and don't like the color I'm stuck with it. If you have it or know what the color really looks like please let me know. These are the pictures I've seen: http://multimedia.3m.com/mws/mediawebserver?66666UuZjcFSLXTtMXfaMx&EEV76EbHSHVs6EVs6E666666-- http://www.steeles.com/images/3M/colors.jpg http://img18.imageshack.us/img18/9509/raspberry1rr8.jpg http://img403.imageshack.us/img403/9773/raspberry2md1.jpg http://www.medisave.pl/images/3m_Littmann_Classic_ii_pediatric_raspberry.jpg Thank you, but which ones of these pictures does it resemble the most?
Where can I find smaller earpieces for my Littmann stethoscope? I just purchased the Littmann Master Classic for $92 new. All the earpieces that came with it are too large for my small ears. I find myself needing a third hand sometimes, so that I can hold the earpieces in my ears properly! Does anyone know where I can find even smaller earpieces for my Littmann stethoscope? Yes, it came with both smaller and larger earpieces, but the smaller ones are still much too big! I've searched all over the Internet, but can't seem to find any extra-small earpieces! :(
Which is better? Littmann Lightweight II S.E. or Littman Classic II S.E.? Just for physical assessment and blood pressure taking... :) Thanks for answering my question! I like lightweight coz its price is lesser than Classic II S.E. .. If ever i'll get lightweight, i'll definitely place my name on it, thanks for the tip! :) i have an Alp K2 stethoscope right now and i'm not satisfied with it. :( What is the brand of your stethoscope Pangolin? Thanks a bunch! :)
Is the Littmann Cardiology 3 or Master Cardiology stethoscope ok to use on babies? I'm currently a nursing student and want to purchase a new stethoscope. I was looking at getting the Master Cardiology or the Cardiology 3. This is perfect for clinicals. When I graduate though I would like to work in postpartum where I would be listening to mom and babies lungs and heart. Would I have to buy a special stethoscope later on for the babies or is this one ok? I just don't want to spend a lot if I will have to get a new one later on. FYI..I am speaking of already delivered babies
Length of Stethoscopes for Nursing Students? I am starting my 1st year in nursing program next week. I was told that the length of stethoscopes's tubing should not be more than 27" during the orientation. I would like to buy one made by Littmann's though. Hardly any within 27" length size. My height is 5'7". Is 28" lenght is too long for me?? Can any one help? Thanks.
Which Stethoscope Is Best For EMS Work? I've been using cheap ones and I want something more professional. Littmann Cardiology III Littmann Master Cardiology WelchAllyn Harvey Double Head WelchAllyn Harvey Elite and please say why you like it, or why its a good stethoscope THANKS!

Respiratory Therapist Stethoscope? I have a Littmann Cardiology III stethoscope. I am a student, I start my clinicals in January. Is this stethoscope okay for me to use or should I get something different?

Your opinions regarding Litthmann Stethoscope? I have been using the same Littmann Cardiology III since medical school and I love the clarity I get on auscultation with it. But last night in the ER, a rather bad night I may add, my old Betsy went to that great medical refuse bin in the sky. Now that I’m back on the prowl for a new stethoscope, what do you recommend? I have seen some of the paramedic personnel carry electronic stethoscopes by Littmaan. How do those work out in the field or in the office setting? Are they able to allow you to detect murmurs? Pros & cons welcome and as always, my appreciation with thanks. I'm using the "LOANER" right now. You know the 1lb double rubber tubes stethoscope and hard plastic ear pieces that lacerate your earlobes. Yep, the one, no internist would be caught dead with. Bethany! You have two!!! Can I borrow one? LOL! Yes, I got to test an Electronic one on Sunday night. NEATO!, but I was very self-conscious about it, afraid of breaking it or even when it ding agains the bed rails. So I'm going to take Momo's advice and get a Cardio III. Hopefuly "Old Betsy II" will last me another 4 years. Thank you all for the consultation!
Recommend Stethoscopes please? I am a medical student, and i need a stethoscope for the coming semester, what stethoscopes do u recommend? and Why? the most recommended is Littmann, but lots of comments i've seen online are saying the cons of it, saying that the new technology is not relevant or not so good. could u please specify the models? like for Littmann, is a littman master good enough, or i should get a Cardiology III ?
Which stethoscope to buy? I am buying a new stethoscope for a person that is now going into residency, and I am stuck between getting the Littmann Master Cardiology or the Littmann Cardiology III. Any thoughts as to which one would be a better buy? I am looking to get it engraved, so any suggestions with good places to do it would also be greatly appreciated.
NURSES What's the best litman stethoscope that you use? I have had a litman lightweight for years, but in the hospital the background noise is killing me when im doing blood pressure ( sometimes need to retest 2 times because its so loud) so i was thinking of getting the 3000 model...what kind do you use? http://solutions.3m.com/wps/portal/3M/en_US/Littmann/stethoscope/electronic-auscultation/model-3000/
Which stethoscope is good? i am a new nursing student and i bought a Littmann Lightweight II S.E. Stethoscope but i am not sure if that is good or if i should get the classic? or any other suggestions??? thanks!

Does anyone know any good sites with auscultation sound, programs, samples....im using the littmann stethoscope, and does anyone know where to get their cds with sounds?thanks We have patients with mitral stenosis, murmors...but some things you can't hear, either it's rare or patients come and go before we get to them, so id love some reference, just to know what to pay attention to if i do come across it one day

New nursing student stethoscope advice??? I am starting NS in the fall and was wondering if anyone can give me advice on wether I should just go ahead and buy the Littmann Master Cardiology stethoscope which is very pricey but has extremely good reviews, instead of spending money on cheaper models and ultimately have to buy the more expensive one. I am not a nurse yet, and just need it for clinicals.
stethoscope choices.anybody who has an opinion: for x-mas i asked for a good stethoscope? and i would love to know out of these two options which everyone prefers or would recommend- or if there is anything you recommend in the same price range that would be amazing. thanks for your input. (also if you could give me reasonings if you have good ones) (these are the two links my mother sent me- she will be purchasing the gift- and she wants to get what i want but ive never had anything more than the Walmart $15 kind or whatever is on the truck- EMT/Paramedic/Firefighter is the field I will be using this for- so keep in mind outside noises will be at maximum interference and I will be using it for the main idea of listening to lung sounds and occasionally cardio if the situation arises) http://www.reddingmedical.com/11_Littmann_Master_Cardiology_Stethoscope__2160.cfm http://www.reddingmedical.com/29_Littmann_Master_Classic_II_Stethoscope__2144.cfm?step=4&id=29 thank you so much for your input. price range i guess would be anything under: $150
My wife is a nurse in the Neonatal ICU; I want to get her a new stethoscope for Christmas. What should I get? I know the stethoscopes used in the NICU are different than regular stethoscopes, and I've looked at some, but I don't know which stethoscope is the best one. Her regular stethoscope is a Littmann, and I know she likes it a lot. I've been looking at the 28" Littmann Classic II Infant Stethoscope. Is that a good choice? I found it on sale for about $70. I wouldn't mind spending up to $100 for one that's good quality. Thanks for the responses so far. Some users have suggested getting something more personal than a stethoscope. The stethoscope is not the only thing I am buying her. She is just out of nursing school and this will be her first nursing job...she is extremely excited about it. She has also mentioned wanting a stethoscope that is pink and personalized. So, I know she will be happy with it. I'm just trying to find which is the best one to get her.
